Is there somebody else in the pipeline? Look for Stan to stick around a long, long time...

We gave Stan alot of guff after last years early exit when expectations were high however this year he did his job and he did it well.
However im not gonna go and say that Stan is the best coach ever because there are some other coaches in the league i would like to have, Stan has redeemed himself this year but lets see what he can do in the coming years and not have more early exits when we should be going farther. But even still as said above we probably have Stan here for many years to come either way. I will say that i love Stan as our GM though, year in and year out dispite the final result he puts together a great team on the ice that is a pleasure to watch. |

He guided the team to their best ever regular season.
He engineered some brilliant trades. He oversaw a conference championship playoff run. What has he done for us lately, though? |

In this league, 'most' teams go in cycles where they are strong for a couple of seasons and then they have to re-tool. There are the few who stay at
the top and there are a few who never move from the bottom. Stan has kept this team in the top half for the past few years with no dropoff. This season they
take it to a new level which
surprised many including myself. You could say, well look at the players that he had (Hodgson, Duchene, Grachev, McCollum) - well who brought in these players... Stan I think we are very fortunate to have him here. Some may say he is a better GM than a Coach. I am sure it is a tough job to do both. It will be interesting next year to see what he pulls out of his hat as I expect our team next season to be competitive but not as good as this past season obviously. If one of the top 3 forwards are back and Killeen steps up, we could be very good. |

If one of the top 3 forwards are back and Killeen steps up, we could be very good.Grachev = 0% Duchene = 10% Hodgson = 5% Killeen stepping up = 100% The 09/10 team will be built around strong goal tending and a veteran 'D' corps. Scoring will be thin but the forwards who will be around are at least good defensively so I would expect next year's team to compete every night but with bland hockey as the motto. I just can't see guys like Tanski, Carrick, Stajan, Moore or Thorne lighting things up for more than 50 points on their own. Add (as slim a chance as it stands) Duchene and/or Hodgson in the mix and maybe one of them rides the coat tails to a big season. Predicting the Troops will finish 5th in the conference, third in the division; a ten spot behind the Majors and a handful behind the Wolves. The way things look to be panning out, the Battalion core guys will be ready for another run for the 11/12 season... |

I think by question was a little open ended. There's no doubt Stan has a proven track record in he GM role for the past number of seasons. The better question is does Stan deserve to be behind the bench going forward? I'm looking for your thoughts and not what you think the owner will do. |

Brampton needs 72 points this year to have a franchise winning percentage of "0.500"

Now they're getting a head start on next year!
