Booster Brigade will be on hand tonight as the Troops begin the uphill battle to force this series to 7 games and take the long road to Rimouski.
McCollum wont be playing tonight (regards to Dale Mitchell) so Killeen will make his first start since the 5-4SO win on the last day of the regular season vs Oshawa
Grachev looks like is going to be a game time decision.

Its not looking good for us, time for the Cardiac Kids to work a bit more magic

Who backs up Killeen? If T-Mc is not starting than it's logical to conclude he won't be on the bench either.

Have faith; my good friend dropped off a pair of Memorial Cup tickets for the whole tourney on my desk this morning and I'm not going up there to see Windsor represent the 'O' either... Quoting Elwood Blues "It's a sign from gad".

Man...

What a way to end it; less cruel to just have lost 1-0. It's OT for gawd sakes, let the kids play it out on their own terms.

I'll congratulate the Spits like I should but a bigger applause goes out to Brampton. We'll all know in the next few days about the pain a lot of players were playing through and tonight's effort goes to show that this team fought to the end. To put it mildly, losing sucks and no words of encouragement are good enough right now so I say 'Thanks' instead.

It's been a great year and one to remember; I'm glad I was part of it.

Windsor takes the cake, 2-1 in OT.

Pretty dubious penalty to Duchene that decided it tonight; Young felt Matt leaning on him and slooooooowly folded like he was half his size. I kind of had a feeling the Troops had the edge after tying it up, but in the end there was no denying the Windsor offense. They were the better team, though it was nice to see that after Game 1 Brampton proved to be not all that inferior after all. A worthy Championship Series by all accounts.

They say no one remembers second best. Well, when you've waited eleven seasons for a playoff run like we witnessed this spring, second best, though still disappointing, will not be soon forgotten.

All I can is thank you Troops...you guys made us simple fans proud !

I only wish they could have a get together before they disperse so that some of the fans could congratulate them as they so deserve.

I'll never forget this playoff run and the fall of the curse.

Thank you Battalion for a memorable season...you made the Battalion faithful and the City Of Brampton proud.

A LARGE thank you to the young men who are the Battalion; you have done yourselves proud & in doing so the organization, city etc. A character game/series and what more can we fans say than "thanks for such a wonderful, memorable season, 11 years in the making! Maybe there is a way to video a team goodbye to play next time we meet at the Bunker. We wish each & every graduating Trooper success in their "next level" endeavour. To the Spitfires we wish them well in Rimouski; they are a worthy OHL champ & will represent us well. To the OHL...please "fix" the system you have created to officiate these playoffs; these young men deserve much better.

Congratulations boys. It has been a great ride. Sure would have been nice to have had you playing at home tonight but the hockey gods didn't want that, so be it. I still can't believe we were playing hockey in May. I could get used to this.

This was on the Battalion website:
"The Battalion played a second consecutive game without left winger Evgeny Grachev, who had a feared concussion and was among those who played with undisclosed injury or illness."

A much more reasonable explanation than flu like symptoms.

Thank you Troops for such a memorable season. See you in the fall to those coming back and all the best to those leaving. We will watch for you wherever the road takes you.

First of all Congrats to the Windsor Spitfires on there OHL Championship, well deserved and the better team did win. But MAN what a season in Brampton and if you all dont mind i want to take some time to reflect.

This was my first (of hopefully many more) season as a season ticket holder. As many of you know i went to dozens of Brampton games this year, even on the road. I was there 8 months ago on August 31st when the Troops and what was a half of a roster of new faces faced off for that first exhibition game of the season at the Aud (against the 2008 OHL Champs) Kitchener Rangers. As the season progressed we all knew we were watching something special. Watching rookie goalie Brandon Foote put up 2 shutouts and get CHL Goalie of the week before he even had 10 career starts. Watching the boys win 16 in a row (many of which were come from behind wins). Watching the drama of the trade deadline and bidding farwell to some players while welcoming new ones. Watching the all star performances of Cody Hodgson, Evgeny Grachev, Matt Duchene, Thomas McCollum. And watching guys like Scott Tanski, Jason Dale, and Matt Kang play with plenty of heart and give it 1000% on every shift.

It was tough watching some of the boys just breakdown and cry last night, it shows how much this meant to them

The playoffs came and watching our team finally beat that 2nd round curse would have been good enough for me but the Troops outdid themselves this year. Watching (as i look back on it now) an amazing 6 game series with those evil Majors and just a jaw dropping 6 gamer with the Bulls.

The night we clinched the Eastern Conference at the Bunker was amazing, what a feeling, im sure the OHL Championship feels much better, but the feeling i had that night is how i want to remember this team, this group of guys was something special and something i hope none of us Brampton fans EVER forget.

Through all the road trips i did this year, from Windsor to Kingston, Erie to Sault Ste Marie i cant think how quick these past 8 months have gone by, yet at the same time that hot late August day at The Aud seems like a lifetime ago.

If i just had one thing to say to sum up Brampton's 2008-2009 season, i would say....................

THANK YOU BOYS!!!!!!!!!

Thoroughly good game ruined by officiating. Hodgson's hooking penalty and Duchene's "checking from behind" attrocious calls. Well that's our shot at it for a few seasons to come. I don't know how competitive we will be next season, it depends who comes back. See you at the next function. Have a safe and healthy summer.

I didnt see a game thread so i figure i would get one going.

Anyway do or die for Brampton tonight as a Spits win would give them there first OHL Championship since 1988 and send them to Rimouski.

Brampton will begin to what im sure many think is going to be impossible and that is win 3 straight vs the Spits and attempt to win this series in 7.
No matter what happens tonight Brampton has been playing there hearts out in this series (except for maybe game 1) and if the season does end tonight im proud and honoured to have watched such a team play this season. But before i give them a eulogy remember Brampton has MANY comebacks this year (the Cardiac Kids as i call em) and as long as this series isnt technically over then the Troops have a chance.

The Booster Brigade will be in tow tonight down the 401 (yours truly included of course)

Not sure if McCollum will play tonight (by the sounds of it on the Battalion site yesterday he isnt) and still not sure if Grachev is ready to go yet either, but you can defiantly see the effects of a season longer then 30-40 games in taking its toll on the big dirty russian, ill take Gino over Loktionov any day of the week.
