History in the making, only two nights after making history. To paraphrase Sw(one)ne:

Tough loss tonight.
At least they beat Windsor in the alleys...should make for a great Game 5 with the booster bus in tow. No matter what happens i'm still proud as hell for what they've done this year. Come on guys win the next two !!! Gwai Lo |

I thought it was a tremendous effort by the Battalion, they just came up short. No third period hometown heroes tonight; instead the Spits' best elevated
their game to put this one out of reach.
Nothing to be ashamed of, outside maybe the powerplay. The outcome of Game 5 depends largely on the status of Thomas McCollum. And to a slightly lesser extent, Evgeny Grachev. |

Brian Burke, Cliff Fletcher and David Nonis were sitting two rows down and a dozen seats over from us in Section 5.
Funny seeing all the kids lining up for Burke's autograph. Kid behind me was pointing them out to his mom. Said, "I think that guy sitting beside Burke is a security guard. He looks like one". It was Nonis. Tough loss...guys played their hearts out. |

Gwai, I have to wonder about the "victories" in the alleys, what with the amount of ice the guys were wearing tonight! That said, Windsor is a more
physical
team than we are & are taking their opportunities to lay on the body. While we are "giving back" we are not as slick at it so are resorting to untimely fouling which takes us off our game. Still think we have another Game 3 in us if we can get back our game skating. There are health questions about Thomas & Gino although this is a very gritty & proud bunch of guys & I expect all will play their desperate best on Friday. I'd really like to sub # 3 for #4 particularly if he is going to be on the point of the 2nd PP. The intentional running of our goalie deserves some comment; would anyone be surprised to see a collision between Gregorak & Engelage? Really thought that we might have seen that at the end of the 3rd tonight. Not a pretty game for either side tonight; we are way better than this & win or lose I hope we show this on Friday. Go Troops Go |

I'm sure TM will be fine although I'm sure he'd like goals 3 and 4 back.

It was a tough one last night. If all the guys played with the heart that Jason Dale did then, IMO, we would be going to Windsor on Friday all knotted up. Anyway, I hear the flu is making the rounds on the team, including Cody, so maybe that accounted for their sluggishness or at least their running out of steam toward the end. You know, I really thought that Mitchell intentionally ran McCollum, however, when I got home I checked the PVR and played it and replayed it and it may have been that Day (I think it was Day) got his stick on his skates. From what I saw it was hard to tell if he was going down anyway or if that was the cause. Anyway, I hope that Thomas is OK. That would be a terrible way to finish such a good run and most likely his OHL career. |

This one was tough to swallow because the game was there to be taken at the start of the third but Brampton simply ran out of gas. Guys look beat up, fatigued
and I guess this run is beginning to sputter. I hope to heaven that we'll see a game 5 of biblical proportions and come back strong on Saturday night and
come back with hope.
The reason I'm a little pessimistic about game five is the events that transpired at the end of last nights game. Things were getting a little silly and understandably so; I don't think I could have kept my composure but I did shed disappointment during the Troops PP at game's end. Being down 4-1 and with a 5-on-3, I was hoping to see some life (and a goal or two) so going into game 5 there is something to build from. Like the Troops from game two, finishing off strong assisted them to victory in game three. My feeling was that if they popped one or two in on that PP they could go with that into Friday's contest. But the exact opposite happened. Windsor controlled the play during the 5-on-3 and didn't let the Troops even cross the blueline. Peroff actually fired the puck in from center at one point because nobody could carry the puck past the blueline! That one play said it all: We have nothing left. Forget that Matt, Anthony were kicked out and forget that Geno was out, the unwillingness at that point in the game to not give it all (for whatever reason; fatigue, injury, etc) signified the story is complete. It's an admission on my end that it's done. I'll watch with pride and enthusiasm tomorrow as I always do but... Good luck to you Booster guys (and gals) making the trip on Friday. You'll enjoy the arena and the ride down. Most of you know what to expect from the fans so be careful is all I can say and come back the same way you came in; in one piece and in good spirits. |

They looked good during the first period and a half and then the legs just gave out. Unfortuately, the spitfires are a more well conditioned team and have not lost a step in any of the past games. Not sure what to make of Grachev deciding to sit out with his flu-like symptons - the biggest game in the series that could have swayed the tide and they (he) decide he should sit - No way suck it up and get your butt out there. What a HUGE let down for his team mates to see. He didn't look to bad running around the arena last night. |

Flu like symptoms? I thought it was all upper or lower body injuries. I'm suspect that flu was the reason; has to be something more serious for him to
sit out. Flu means you dress and play the PP. He must have not been able to skate for one reason or another...

From where we were sitting you could see him up in one of the suites, at the end of the first period he jumped over the top rail of the suite and ran down the
stairs to a bunch of people that were sitting second row back of the glass. I'm not a doctor but he didn't look mlike he was having any trouble.
